On a Burglar

Posted on

I just got home
Looks like Rome in battle
Little did I know that the subtle had come
What is this, an influence of rum?

I’d just prayed against losses
Can’t afford to be a prey like Samson
But this happened for a reason
Though it looks like a punishment for treason

Instinct wanted me to race
But conscience subjected me to praise
Anger made me question the watchers
But who am I to question the Almighty Watcher?

Wisdom called for self-reflection
Is my affection still on the Hill?
Yes, I needed to be that real
Is this the will of God or the ill of satan?

Just took a deep breath and gave a bright smile
Not my fault, my vault was broken
The Watcher’s wrath will dig a pit
The culprit will sure be caught

Not a laudable event though
Some valuables were gone but replaceable they are
I just got to the house
And a mouse had eaten my cake
